Inspiration thursday (with Lindsay from Pixies & Bears)

This Thursday's interview is with none other than the wonderful, Mrs. Lindsay Ellington :) I'm truly excited that she allowed me to interview and feature her here on my blog!! I lovelovelove her blog and read it constantly. She's always inspiring me and I'm so glad to have her as a blog pal and a pen pal!!! Thanks again Lindsay!!! :)
Now, without further adieu...

Name: Lindsay from Pixies and Bears

Tell us a little bit about you!
I’m 25, military wife and mommy to 2 kiddos. I love love crafting and blogging and have met several inspirational people in the blog world. I love to try new things and constantly changing it up! I also have a huge love for pandas!!! :D

Favorite craft or hobby?
Right now I have been making felt plushies like crazy. Scrapbooking is a close second though. I try many many crafts and really put a lot of love into what I make.

What's next for you?
I really couldn’t tell you! I am hoping to open up an Etsy shop one of these days, I would love to share my crafts with the world! My hubby is getting deployed in a few days, so I will have a lot of time to work on getting stuff made and the ideas will hopefully just roll!

5 things that make you happy!
Family
Dark Cherry Mochas from Starbucks
pedicures
Japanese Washi tape
Etsy shopping sprees

Where do you find inspiration?
I find inspiration everywhere, a lot from WeHeartIt, blog friends and Etsy!

How do you get and stay motivated??
I push myself really hard, I make TO DO lists everyday and I make a weekly TO DO list as well. I think staying organized helps for the most part. You also need a lot of drive, and determination!

If stranded on an island and you can bring one person and one thing with you, what would it be??
I would bring my hubby (sry kids, I can only pick one) and my laptop (if they had internet..lol)

Give us 1 random or funny or interesting fact/tidbit about YOU!!!
Hmmm I am terrified of otters (at the zoo).. I was bit by one when I was younger and since then think they are evil little beasts!!!

I want to thank you so much Kellie for featuring me, I love love your blog and find inspiration from you daily!! Loves! I love meeting new people, so don’t be shy, pop on over to my bog and say hello!!! :D

xoxo,
Lindsay
And don't forget to check out her wonderful blog....she's also having an awesome and HUGE giveaway right now! So what are you waiting for??????

the filler friend (venting post...dont read unless you can handle that!!!)

Throughout my life (and especially more recently) I feel like I am the "filler friend". The friend/person that people fill in their time with until something better comes along. Not to say that I think I'm deserving of this...I happen to think I am fun and a good friend, which makes the whole situation even more confusing and frustrating. However, when it comes to my friendship, people only seem to want it when they have too much lonely or down time that needs to be taken.

I'm that filler.

Most of my recently made girl friends have all used me as this...whether they meant to or not. They're single and want to have fun and are in desperate need of girl friends and girl time. We bond, become close friends, they find a boy and then all of a sudden "bye filler friend!" No warning, no weening, just tossed aside like yesterdays news.

I understand how girls work, after all, I am one. But it annoys me to no end when girls that I consider close (if not best) friends disappear after a boy comes into their lives. It makes me feel worthless and frankly, it hurts like hell. I do get that girls are just like this....they meet a boy and thats all they can think about- I completely get this (I'm quite boy crazy myself). What pisses me off is the fact that they dont schedule me in, they dont call me to hang out, or they leave after an hour of hanging out because they haven't seen their boy in at least a day... wow, a day. Try a week.

Ok, maybe I'm jealous.... we girls do tend to pick our guys over our friends in the beginning (although with my jax gal friends it seems there's no end to the beginning-once they leave, they leave for good). And I'll admit that I have done this. I'm guilty, you caught me. I've picked the guy over friends, but I've learned. I stopped. Everyone else hasn't...and it's not as if this is one particular friend I am referring to, it's a handful. It almost makes me feel like there's something wrong with me.... but I digress.

So girls pick their boy over their friends, I get that. But I'm SOL in that way and then the boy picks his friends over me. So I get stuck in the middle of.....well I guess I'm having a date night with myself....again.

So yea, I'm jealous because I'm never the first one people want to hang out with....the filler friend is the option, not the priority.

I didn't write this for a pity party or to call anyone out. Nor did I want to make anyone feel badly. I'm just so sick of not having these girl friends or boyfriend to turn to that I had to use the internet as a medium to get out (okay, maybe I am a bit pathetic...). I don't want any I'm so sorry or I feel so bad for you. I hate those.... In fact I don't think I want any comments at all. I just want someone to see me as the #1 priority.......

word.

film friday (my list of good vs. bad)

Okay, so as I'm sure yall have already noticed, I watch a lot of movies. I'm kind of a homebody and like staying in, but i have to be multitasking in order to be happy and content. In fact multitasking watching movies and doing crafts is like the perfect day for me!! So awhile back I got netflix and I've been both surprised and deeply disappointed in some of the choices. There have been some that are sooo horrible my friends refused to let me pick another group movie for a long time (this is known as the "History Boys" debacle)....

Latley though I've been thinking about how much of a girl I am and how my mind changes so frequently. With movies and such trival things I tend to sway on my opinions. There were a lot of movies that looked stupid via trailers and I refused to watch them, but upon hearing more about them I decided to jump on the bandwagon and see what the fuss was all about....turns out I liked them.

So here are some examples of movies that looked bad but turned out to be soooo great!

Then of course there are the movies that I saw advertised and just HAD to watch. They looked like something I would absolutely fall in love with. While their dissapointment and oddness did not match that of History Boys, they still are considered time wasters in my book (and I hope I don't offend anyone in my movies choices..... my movie taste is not the best I'll be the frist to admit!)

Well, there's my list if the good vs. bad (in my opinion of course!)
What are some films that surprised you in how awful or awesome they actually turned out to be???
