sick of being sick

I think I'm going on a week of being sick now. Ick. Luckily though, my voice is finally back. I miss the kids at my school though, I can't wait for Monday to be back interning.
I feel pretty darn useless- like I should be using this time to do something. Catch up on letters and emails. Catch up on my netflix movies. Scrapbook. Journal. Sketch. Anything, but instead I've been a bum. I guess the tons of sleep is needed, especially if I still plan on being back at work tomorrow.
On the good side, I have some beyond amazing friends that have really been there for me the past couple months. Through thick and thin. I am so blessed.
Another happy note- I get to write this post from my porch. While it would be nice if it was cooler than 70 degrees on this beautiful November day, just the fact that it's not so dreadfully hot that I can be out here is wonderful. I love it!!!! :)

Oy, and here is reason why being bored and sick with a camera is never a good idea. Never.

I actually had to use this board a few days since the doctor told me I had to rest my throat which meant no talking. Um, difficult task!!

ain't no party like a costume party

I didn't get many things done from my to do list, which is a little disappointing. Especially because I wasn't able to build a fort. (insert sad face with a tear). HA!
However, I did have a great weekend. I got to spend a lot of time with friends laughing, reliving old memories and making some amazing new ones.

Here are some pictures from Halloween.

And of course when not in costume, I wore this cute little headband I bought. Thanks Megan and Jake! I love it soooo much. I think I'm gonna have to buy some for every holiday! :)

What did you do for Halloween?? Don't forget to post pictures or links to pictures. I wanna see costumes!!! :)

recently

I feel like every blog I write now starts with something along the lines of "It's been awhile since I last blogged....". I really wish I was getting better at this instead of worse, but lately life has been throwing too much at me to allow the amount of blogging I would like to do.

So here are some updates....

Leigh, Jeff K, and Jess and I got to meet Rob Bell. We went to one of his talks/shows and then stayed after to meet him. It was so surreal and he is such an awesome guy! And a lot taller than I thought he would be......

I am also in love with this band. Owl City.
I am counting down the months and days until they are in Jacksonville!!!!

I am also in love with this band. Passion Pit.

If you like Postal Service, chances are you will love these bands as well.

Any new bands yall have been turned on to recently?? I am constantly wanting new music to craft to!!! :)

Happy Tuesday my bloggin' buds!!!

my middle name is "Go"

Actually, my middle name is Nichole.
My mom jokes with me all the time (and since I was a little girl) that my middle name is or should have been Go. She says that ever since I could walk (or perhaps even crawl) I have been on the move. I don't sit still or stay put for very long. I think I tend to get restless easily.
Today I am remembering this joke she and I share and finding it to be very much true. Lately I feel that I haven't had a lot of time to just sit and think. It's probably a good thing though since just sitting around tends to leave me bored and often times depressed. However, there is so much going on (especially with it being midterm week) that I feel I can't catch my breath. I guess though I should be thankful, for it keeps me happy, thinking about all the good things in life, and more importantly allows me to be thankful for down time even more than I otherwise would be.
Hope yall are having a great Monday (even though for us here on the East Coast there's only a few minutes more of it!)

good morning lovlies

I have never been a morning person. Even as a little kid I would sleep in Saturday mornings, missing the weekend morning cartoons (much to my parents' dismay). But I have just always enjoyed staying up late and sleeping in the next day.
However, today was different. Today Leigh and I decided that we would venture out to the beach and watch the sun rise. While to those that know us, this either sounds like a blatant lie or may now be worried about our sanities, I assure you that all is well. Better than, actually.
After too long a time in being comfortable with the life I was barely living, I decided that today would be a fresh start for me. I have BIG plans for my future from here on out. I want to live everyday doing what will make my future self proud. This includes continuing the great changes I've been implementing in my life (i.e. drinking LOTS of water, going to the gym, and reading more) as well as making new goals (i.e. looking at things from a new perspective and trying things I would otherwise be scared to try).

So here's to a new chapter in my life.

And for those of you that did not believe the beach sun rise trip, look below. Yup, pictures to prove it!!! :)

We also made our way downtown to the best little bookstore to scope out some new reads. Something about the cool weather and being downtown on a sunny, beautiful day that makes me heart happy.

I hope you are all enjoying your Saturdays.
Much love,
kelz

I am really getting excited for Halloween!!! I thought about a costume, but when I saw these lovlies, I changed my mind. Can't wait for mine to come!!!

Just a few more weeks and there will be scary movies, homemade chili, Halloween cookies and cupcakes and my sangria punch. Yes, we are going ALL out. I can't wait to start baking.

au'bre's outing

Au'bre had a big day the other afternoon. My step-dad took her to get her picture taken with the Oscar Meyer car. Weiner dog with the weiner car.
