st. pattys day (friends & a maternity shoot)

Happy St. Patty's Day yall!!

So far mine has consisted of a photo shoot for my friend (officially announcing her pregnancy/son's name), editing photos, hanging out with friends, starbucks, my first st patty's day milkshake from mcdonalds, and lots of basketball (let's go Kentucky!!!)

Since I owe my friend her pictures before posting them, I'm only sharing a few "behind the scenes" photos. But after editing all 301 today, I cannot wait to share them with her and then here. Not that I consider myself a great photographer by any means, but it's such a fun hobby and I was so glad I could do this for my friends. It doesn't hurt that my friend is incredibly gorgeous and great in front of the camera....

So beware....lots of photos to come soon!

But until then.........

Happy St. Patty's from Steven and I!

a me day

Every once and awhile we all need that kind of day. A day to unwind and not have to think about anything or anyone. The weekends are suppose to be for that, but I feel like most of the time the weekends come down to other things. And I rarely get time to do everything I want to do and nothing else.

Yesterday I was fortunate enough to get half the day off (thanks to an awesome co-worker, who took my afternoon school shift).

So what did I do?

I checked out a new bakery. Ok, well new to me.
I sat and read and had coffee and a french macaroon (to test taste for a friend...shhh).

I ran errands and kept the sunroof open the entire time.

I crafted and finished the Kellie and Steven book (our year one book).
I also started working on our year 2 book, which is almost done as well!

Then I made dinner (to no avail, since I was the only one home to eat it...)
Drank lots of wine.
Made cupcakes.
And watched even more of The Tudors.

To sum it up, a wonderful day.

2012 march madness

Last year was the first year I participated in the March Madness frenzy (all due to Steven). Somehow I even got kinda far. So this year, I figured that I would try again. Granted I blame last year on beginners luck.
So anyway...I'm filling out the bracket and I decided to check out Obamas. Mine is extremely similar. I don't know how you feel about that, but I think its pretty darn awesome.

So are you partaking? If so, who are your top choices??

24 before 25 (goal 4...done)

Last year when I turned 24 I made my annual goal list (24 before 25).

#4 was to finish my k & s book that documented mine and Steven's first year together.

Today I finally finished it.

Thanks to a day off and some awesome mix cds from friends and bloggers that kept me motivated. 9

Here are some (bad) iphone photos of the finished thing.
(I really need to get my good camera back out to document more......)

I can't believe in a few short months we will be celebrating 2 years. Time flies.....

spring break week

This past week has been pretty darn good (minus a few not so great things).
This past weekend I dog sat for my friends awesome pups, I went to my first poker game (and managed to piss people off), watched a lot of Big Bang Theory (a show I use to hate), found out some pretty bad news about my aunt in Pensacola (prayers welcome and needed!), rode my bike, tried to find the Zooey magazine (which is only sold in one store in Jax) but did not prove successful, had lunch with my mom 2 days in a row (like old times), and have had an easy time at work.

Since our school is on Spring Break this week, I've been working a little less. I'm still working at the law firm in the morning, but I've gotten a lunch break and was able to take off the school job for the rest of the week to get other stuff done. Like me-time, and errands for friends and family.

The only downfall has been the news of my aunt. While I'm not going to get into detail about it here, I will say that it came by complete surprise and is devastating for her and her son. She will be okay (thank you God),but it's life changing. If you are the praying type, please keep her in your prayers. And if you're not religious, please send her all of your positive thoughts and energy. She and her immediate family need it.

I hope you've had a great week.
Only a few days more until St. Patty's Day!!! (I'm pretty excited for a couple reasons..... will share later on).

my week in iphone photos

I have to admit, I am pretty glad this week is finally over. While it did hold a lot of good things (like gals night, cupcakes, dog sitting, trying to dinner places, and my awesome students) I still needed this weekend to come.
And next week is out spring break! Of course, I am still working all week, but I will get a little bit of a break. yay!!!!

And that is life currently.

52 lists in 52 weeks// week 40

Just in case you didn't see last week's list (which introduced this week's list/post), you can check it out here.

The point of list 40 was to be more positive and to seek out the good in everyday life. This list was kind of a challenge for me for a couple of reasons.

1- I'm pretty bad about writing things down right away and then I typically forget the even all together.

2-I have a hard time always seeing the good in things. I let the bad overrun the good sometimes, and I hate that, which is why this list was created in the first place. To push me, challenge me, and then uplift my spirits. So hopefully we can do that together.

Anyway, down to the main reason you're reading this post:

List 40: The small, medium, and amazing things that happened throughout your week.

birthdays and red lipstick

I'm not entirely sure if I said it here, or just on instagram, but somehow I always manage to wear red lipstick on co-workers birthdays. It's totally not a planned thing, I'm not consciously doing it. It just happens.

So of course today, I wore red lipstick.

But the best part of today (besides it finally being Friday) is that it is also Dr. Seuss' birthday and more importantly, my dear friend Chelsea's birthday!

Happy birthday Chels/smalls!

I love you so much and am so glad I know you. You are an incredible lady and I hope today is the best birthday for you yet!!!

love,

kel
