love story//kellie and steven

 Here is mine and Steven's story. I figured it was perfect timing for Valentine's Day, eh?

Steven and I met three years ago this June.
At a bar.
But it's not like that.
I promise.
One night my good friend Brittany wanted to go to this bar to see her crush and his band. I didn't want to go. At all. But I knew how much she did, so her sister and I reluctantly went along.
Once we were there we found a place at the bar and we girls just hung out and talked, waiting for the band to go on. Then this guy came over and started talking to us (Steven's friend, (now our friend) Eric). Soon after, his friend came over (Steven), apologizing for his friend botherng us. Both guys stayed around and we all started talking. I'm pretty sure Steven and I talked about movies all night. He kept saying he'd seen almost every movie. I kept trying to point out one he hadn't. (I won with Princess Bride).

While I was also currently dating someone (which had been on and off again more times than I could count), there was just something about Steven. He seemed so interested in what I said and then when we girls left, he walked us to the car because it was late. He didn't make a move, he just hugged us all goodbye. I remember thinking then that even if I never saw this guy again, he had at least restored my faith in guys. He was a gentleman. I was afraid they were all gone.
I soon broke up for good with the boy that I had such a rocky relationship with.
And I did see Steven again, once I was single.

 

 Our first date was at a deli that is no longer open. And it lasted for over 12 hours. We saw A-team at the theatre, Red Sox game, ordered pizza, and had some of the best conversation. I remember not wanting it to be over.
It's now been about 2 and a half years since our first date, and we've spent almost every day together since.

 He is my best friend. 

My better half. 

The man who makes me laugh and smile more than I can count. 

He's opened my eyes to so many things I would have never of known about. 

He makes me feel loved and special.

He is one of the best men I've ever known and he for some reason has decided to be with me of all girls. 

 I am so incredibly lucky and blessed to have him in my life. And even though we've had our fair share of ups and downs, we've survived them. Our love has grown and become what it is today. 

I am a better person because of Steven and in a way, I think that's one of the best definitions of love.

Kellie & Steven, year 2

Last month Steven and I celebrated 2 years of dating. In order to cherish those memories, I decided to create another minibook, like last year. Except, since last year's mini took so long to complete I went in a different direction. 

With some inspiration from one of my favorite bloggers and the help of blurb.com, I made a pretty simple; yet perfect one.

We're a very ambitious couple.

For real.

We spent Saturday night dancing the night away (in Steven and Kellie fashion....which others might deem "embarrassing", but we see as fun/entertaining). Hey- we even got our picture taken (see above).

Sunday we made a "fort of sorts" in the living room and watched tv all day on an air mattress. That was also the day we decided we should start rating movies. The new Rogers and Ebert if you will. Only our rating system will be called "stellie points". (Which is also the name of our restaurant rating system...see below).

Again, we are very ambitious.

One of my 25 before 26 goals was to try (at least) 25 new restaurants.

Steven agreed to help and this past weekend he sweetly offered to take me to a new place. We chose Big Dawgs (which is the 2nd new restaurant on my goal list so far). Then he had a brilliant idea to rate the new restaurants so we'd know if we ever wanted to go back.

So the "Stellie" point system began.

(By the way, Big Dawgs (in case you were wondering) got a 5.2 combined score from us).

Other than making crazy/awesome career choices this weekend, we also got to hang out with Steven's sister and boyfriend, who were here for a day or two. I'm pretty sure this weekend would count as one of the best in a long time. And I needed it. We caught up, ate and drank too much, danced, ordered late night food, watched tons of tv and movies and just had an amazing time.

24 before 25 (goal 4...done)

Last year when I turned 24 I made my annual goal list (24 before 25).

#4 was to finish my k & s book that documented mine and Steven's first year together.

Today I finally finished it.

Thanks to a day off and some awesome mix cds from friends and bloggers that kept me motivated. 9

I can't believe in a few short months we will be celebrating 2 years. Time flies.....

1 year anniversary

It's still hard to imagine that we've been together for a year now...
He is by far one of the best things that's ever happened to me and is my best friend. (Next to you Leigh of course!!) :) hehe
So in "honor" of our one year here's a little video. And tomorrow tonight we'll be going back to the "scene of the crime", where we first met. :)

the k & s book

Since I have more time to do craft stuff now, I've started working more on this book. I figured it would be a good way to remember our first year together. I'm kind of liking how it's turning out. I'm not finished...but I wanted to share what I have so far :) Maybe it will also help motivate me to finish it.

Key West (Spring 2011 trip)

Since this week has been spring break for me, Steven and I decided to take a trip down to Key West (especially since I've never gone....and I've only lived in FL all my life). It was tons of fun. We got to visit his mom on the way down and then we got 3 days of fun in the sun....we ate a ton, had tons of daiquiris , got a lot of sun (I'm burned!!), went parasailing, jet skiing, snorkeling, swimming, kayaking.....
Sun, beach, some drinks, and my best friend...it was exactly what I needed. :)

It's been 6 months. Not an incredibly long time, but it's something to still brag about. It's a milestone and it's been one of the happiest times of my life!

Steven, You are an incredible boyfriend. You always make me laugh, you're always trying to cheer me up when I'm down and you're always trying to make me happy. You have been an awesome friend and an amazing boyfriend. I thank God for you everyday and I am so lucky to have you in my life. Thanks for putting up with me and my silliness for the past 6 months (I know I don't always make it easy). But thank you for loving me and always wanting to take care of me. You're one of the best guys I know. :)
