goodbye, hello

2013- It's hard to put into words how I felt about this year. It had it ups and downs, like any year. It brought great things, like a puppy and sad things, like my aunt passing away.  It was full of life changing events and learning experiences and questions.
But 2014, I'm going to try to make you my best year yet. I'm going to focus more on being happy and positive- on being proactive and focused.

Before I say hello to 2014 though, I want to say goodbye to 2013.....

 January- we welcomed a new puppy, Chloe. Man I miss her being that small

 February- I spent decorating my first (well second actually) classroom. It's become one of my favorite parts of holidays- decorating the class for the kids. I also got a new car!

 March- my first putt-putt experience (better late than never?)

April- I won instagram magnets from one of my favorite blogs!

 May- I celebrated my 26th birthday with lots of good friends, threw a bridal shower for one of my closest friends, and helped my bestie say goodbye to her dad.

 June- Was my good friend, Erica's wedding and before that bachelorette party. It was also my besties' birthdays, and Chloe graduated puppy training school (which was an ify).

 July- I joined a bowling league and started making some amazing friends and went on our annual NASCAR/Coca-Cola 500 trip.

 August- I started back at school (pirate theme!!!!), and helped throw a bachelorette party for our good friend, Chelsea. My friend Kelly and I also traveled down to Miami for the Justin Timberlake/Jay-Z concert (best ever!!!!)

 September- My family and I said goodbye to one of my aunts, I took tons more photos for friends, saw Jase Robertson from Duck Dynasty speak, and celebrated another friend getting married and two friends getting pregnant!

 October- I said goodbye to a best friend and boyfriend. I tried making new Halloween traditions, spent more time with friends, and started enjoying single life.

 November- I went to the fair with friends, worked really hard, spent Thanksgiving with family and friends, and also the Emergency Care Clinic (bleh). I learned the true meaning and look of forgiveness and love. Oh and Auburn won against Alabama!!!

December- Enjoyed time with friends, family, the new roomie and the new guy. I crafted and baked a lot and made ridiculous but awesome Christmas cards from me and Chloe. I added to my tattoo collection and started redoing my bedroom.

Thanks for all the memories 2013.

teacherhood

There's such thing as "parenthood" and because my brain is already on break without me, I decided that teacherhood was an appropriate made up name/title for what I do.

It can also have many meanings..... you know, when you teach in the hood...

 

While this school year has been a tough one and has consumed much of my time, so it's the little things that have helped me smile. 

My kids can be so extremely sweet and their hugs and sweet notes always brighten my day. But one of my favorite things, is what they sometimes turn in. Funny answers, honest to a fault answers, smart ass responses, and pictures that make you second guess yourself. 

Like I said its the little things....

I can't believe it's been about a month since I've written here. So much is happening and keeping me busy that I haven't found the time. But if I'm going to be honest, I think I've also outgrown this space. So I've been trying to make a new space and internet home. Who knows when/if I will actually get it done....but I'm hoping.

goodbye october

 

October, typically my favorite month has been a whirlwind. Good and bad. But instead of focusing on the bad, I figured I'd share the awesome. 

Good things:

tons of Chloe time- she always cheers me up (except when attacking my face, haha)

lots of time with friends. especially my amazing girl friends!

 There honestly just isn't much to share lately (at least that's good). Call me a debbie downer, right now I'd just go with it. I'm trying my hardest to get through this rough patch of life, but I feel like my head is barely above water.

Someone send help asap!

single in the city

Lately this place has been quiet. I've thought about posting, but then when I sit down to do it I just can't figure out what I want to say or share. 

October has been my favorite months for awhile. It always holds a fresh start (Fall) and lovely traditions. It also has a particular day that I look forward to every year in hope of something good occurring on it. (See here, here, here, and here.) But October has brought me only 2 things- one good and one terrible, horrible,  no good, very bad thing (I got that from this cute kid's book,fyi). 

Good- my little pup turned the big 1!! I can't believe she's not a puppy anymore!

Bad- Steven and I broke up. I'm still trying to put into words how I feel about this and I just can't seem to manage the appropriate ones. It's a difficult situation after a 3 1/2 year relationship. And while I am putting this factoid out there, I don't plan on discussing it here. But life will be extremely different and I guess that goes for this little blogger space too.
