goodbye, hello

2013- It's hard to put into words how I felt about this year. It had it ups and downs, like any year. It brought great things, like a puppy and sad things, like my aunt passing away.  It was full of life changing events and learning experiences and questions.
But 2014, I'm going to try to make you my best year yet. I'm going to focus more on being happy and positive- on being proactive and focused.

Before I say hello to 2014 though, I want to say goodbye to 2013.....

 January- we welcomed a new puppy, Chloe. Man I miss her being that small

 February- I spent decorating my first (well second actually) classroom. It's become one of my favorite parts of holidays- decorating the class for the kids. I also got a new car!

 March- my first putt-putt experience (better late than never?)

April- I won instagram magnets from one of my favorite blogs!

 May- I celebrated my 26th birthday with lots of good friends, threw a bridal shower for one of my closest friends, and helped my bestie say goodbye to her dad.

 June- Was my good friend, Erica's wedding and before that bachelorette party. It was also my besties' birthdays, and Chloe graduated puppy training school (which was an ify).

 July- I joined a bowling league and started making some amazing friends and went on our annual NASCAR/Coca-Cola 500 trip.

 August- I started back at school (pirate theme!!!!), and helped throw a bachelorette party for our good friend, Chelsea. My friend Kelly and I also traveled down to Miami for the Justin Timberlake/Jay-Z concert (best ever!!!!)

 September- My family and I said goodbye to one of my aunts, I took tons more photos for friends, saw Jase Robertson from Duck Dynasty speak, and celebrated another friend getting married and two friends getting pregnant!

 October- I said goodbye to a best friend and boyfriend. I tried making new Halloween traditions, spent more time with friends, and started enjoying single life.

 November- I went to the fair with friends, worked really hard, spent Thanksgiving with family and friends, and also the Emergency Care Clinic (bleh). I learned the true meaning and look of forgiveness and love. Oh and Auburn won against Alabama!!!

December- Enjoyed time with friends, family, the new roomie and the new guy. I crafted and baked a lot and made ridiculous but awesome Christmas cards from me and Chloe. I added to my tattoo collection and started redoing my bedroom.

lookback at 2012

It's almost hard to believe that 2012 is over. So much happened this past year.
I went skiiing.
I had several friends get engaged.
My best friend had a baby.
Outdid myself on my goal to read at least 15 books (I read 34).
Failed in some other goals (like get into shape and help the less fortunate...which I feel terrible even admitting).
Had 3 jobs.
Finally became a teacher.
Had multiple roommates (3 actually).
Created a cd swap on the blog.
Celebrated Valentines day with my awesome boyfriend (who surprised me with some treats!)
Took lots of maternity photographs
And lots of baby photographs.
And some family photographs.
Co-hosted a friend's baby shower.
Co-hosted a friend's engagement party.
Cut my hair (again).
Dyed my hair several times (and finally decided to go back to blonde).
Made new friends.
Tried to do the 365 project (and failed only after a few months).
Tried to make a mini book documenting my entire year (and got half way through).
Went bowling with furries (on accident).
Celebrated Easter with Steven and his family.
Celebrated my 25th birthday.
 Made 25 goals for my 25th year (that I'm really excited about completing!!)
Took my first trip to Chicago and Wisconsin (to visit Steven's family).
Went home to Pensacola for Thanksgiving.
Experienced my first NASCAR.
Celebrated year 2 with Steven!
Got strep throat.
Fell in love with Vampire Diaries.
Had some amazing girls nights with amazing girl friends.
Went to the hospital with Steven several times.
Visited my bestie in DC.
Got a kitchen aid mixer!!!!! (Thanks mom!!)
And got a puppy!!!!

All in all I think it's been a pretty crazy year.
Bring it on 2013, can't wait to see what you have in store for me!

2011 (year in review)

It's been quite a year. But it's been an overall good one. I only hope that 2012 is even better!
Here are some highlights of my year.

January: I started my internship, which took a lot out of me, and rang in the year 2011 with Steven, friends, and my sister.


February: Steven and I went bowling and watched lots of Lost.



April: Steven and I celebrated St. Pattys Day, went to Key West (my first time), Steven moved in, and I had a kitten for the day.


April: I had my last day of interning (which was bitter sweet), graduated college (finally), lost my dog, Coco, and had a garage/bake sale with some friends.



May: I turned 24, made some goals to achieve before I turn 25, went to NYC with my mom (partly for work and partly for fun), met a blogger pal in real life, and had lots of friend time.


June: Steven and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary, I got to kitty sit and kiddy sit, Steven got a promotion, and we spent a lot of time at the pool.

July: Steven and I had a Harry Potter Weekend of Wizardry marathon and I finally became a huge Potter fan.


August: I finally got a job in the teaching field. I got hired on the spot and I have loved my job ever since that first day. And my mom finally got married.

September: We celebrated my amazing boyfriend's birthday and welcomed Fall (finally).


October: Such a great and fun-filled month. So much happened, including mine and Steven's annual pumpkin picking/carving night, fright night, lots of halloween baking, and one awesome halloween dinner at our friends.


November: My mom, step-dad and I traveled to my hometown (Pensacola) to see friends and spend the holiday weekend. I finally got to see my friends' new baby girl too. It was such a great long weekend. Plus I got to meet more of Steven's family at his mom's wedding!


December: I created a new kind of advent calendar. The boyfriend, roommate and I spent the whole month doing fun Christmas/holiday filled activities. Such as making a gingerbread house, decorating the apartment, listening to lots of music, and throwing an ugly christmas sweater party.

2010 in review

It's crazy that so much can change in one year. 2010 for the most part has been a good year, filled with good news, bad news, losing friends, making friends, and all that's in between. So...here's my 2010 in review:

In January:
*I rang in the new year in south florida with my bestie and our pals Jeff and Jeff!

*i got a new roommate

*i became a youth director!

*i started visiting my sister and her kidos every wednesday

In February:

*my friends Sarah and Brennan got married

In March:

*i started the pen pal project!

*i started another new blog feature with some awesome gals

*i got my pretty, long hair cut and darkened....again

*i got some pretty blog buttons, made by my pal Courtney

*I modeled a bit

In April:

*i had some much needed mother-daughter time!

*i reached 100 plus followers!

*lots of time with my sister, for sleepovers

and dying her hair lots of pretty colors

and time with her beautiful kidos too!

*tons of fun girls nights!

*i started a new feature on my blog: inspiration thursdays that featured awesome bloggers!

*the bestie and i went to St. Pete for one of the best and most inspirational weekends ever. i felt so much closer to God after and I felt my relationship with Him get even better!

*I got to visit my home in south florida and visit some more with the bestie

In May:

*my love of sock monkeys began

*I celebrated my 23rd birthday with my parents and good friends in St. Augustine

*my good friend got married to the man of her dreams

*i got another roommate (and the best one!)

*i signed up for camp indie

*my bestie came into town for a visit

*had a yard sale with the youth group

In June:

*got a button for project pen pal, made by the lovely and wonderful courtney!

*did a 2 hour dj yoga party with my girl friends in Riverside

*broke up with a boy

*met a new boy

In July:

*had my last book club meeting (the book: The Shack)

*celebrated the 4th with Brit, Steven, and Steven's friends at the beaches

*journaled for a cause

*went to the Sharks (arena football) game

*had a sister sleep over


In August:

*took and finished my last class EVER at UNF

*FINALLY got to visit my aunts, uncles, and cousins that in alabama that i hadn't seen in close to 8 years!

*redid my living room a bit

*continued to get awesome pen pal mail

*started (and later, actually finished) a blog challenge: 30 days of me

*went to the Jags game with Steven (the only one I got to go to all year)

*celebrated my niece, Gia turning 6

In September:

*celebrated Steven's birthday!

*vacationed in Marco Island with Steven and his mom and Mark

*participated in the lovely Janel's i heart fall class

*drove to Atlanta to see my bestie one last time before she moved to England...and met her awesome "flatties"

*Walked for a cause (heart disease)

*Joined my new church at the annual church picnic

In October:
*celebrated my sister's birthday with homemade cake (made by me!!)

*Carved some awesome pumpkins

*Visited my boyfriend's home town

*Had an awesome Halloween party with some of my good friends. (And had a kick ass couple's costume with the boyfriend)

*Went tailgating for the Florida Georgia game.....which I'm not sure I'll ever partake in again.....

In November:

*Went to some awesome counry concerts with my good friends and boyfriend:

* I got my internship placement!! (5th grade!!)

In December:
*I had more tests done for my stomach pains (including a CAT Scan and ultrasound....yet doctors are still unsure of what's causing this horrible pain.

*I started new traditions with Steven:

*And some new traditions for me:

*Spent Christmas with my wonderful parents and pups.

(and we had SNOW):

*I tried to make lots of DIY crafts for presents:

*Had my last day at the law firm.

Whew...what a year.
