So life lately has been insane. Even weird. And sad. But there's been some good too. (Could I get any more vague?)
School has been busy and some stressful, but I'm taking it day by day and praying more. And some of my kids are the sweetest and make me smile (see the last photo).
This past weekend I got a phone call from family in Alabama, telling me my aunt, who has been struggling with her health, passed away. It was a hard thing to hear, especially since our family is already so small and we use to be so close. The funeral is this coming weekend, and while I'm glad I will get the chance to pay my respects, I'm also a bundle of emotions about it as well.....
And the good? It's not my news, but I'm so very happy for my friends. One is getting married this Friday!!!!! And the other found out she's pregnant (hence the 2 bouquets of flowers photo above).
And then there's the rest.....fantasy football, trying out a costume for Chloe, getting new classroom books for my students to read, flowers and cards from my friends and co-worker friends, photoshoots and great news: my first paid photoshoot in a couple of weekends!!!!
And that's been my life. Ups and downs, goods and bads. As is life I suppose.

reunited with my camera
This past weekend I had a photo shoot for a friend and her family. So I decided that while my camera was out (and since it had been a while), I'd take some photos around the home.
Sorry for the overload of pup photos...but that tongue kills me!
oh and my new car ;)

yikes!

Realization: for the past 5 months I have been working 50 hour work weeks.
I'm exhasuted.
And suffice to say, I am really looking forward to vacation in 2 weeks. I just need a break from life. Don't get my wrong, I do like my life, a lot. But working so much has taken a lot out of me. And well, to be honest, I've never been a work-aholic. Sure I put a lot of effort in what I'm doing (for the most part), but work isn't my life. I like to enjoy other things too. And I guess lately I've felt like I've been working so much (10 hour days here people) that when I get home (and maybe go to the gym and do dinner) I'm exhausted. All I want to do is read until I fall asleep (which doesn't take long).
But I gots to pay the bills..... yay for being a grown up (who's with me?) haha...

xoxo

a solo lunch and an awesome early Christmas
Today I took myself to lunch. Perhaps that sounds like an odd statement (or maybe the fact that I was overly excited about it is the weird part)... but there were some good reasons for it. 1-I never go out and eat by myself.
Fact.
Bears eat beets. Bears...beets....Battlestar Galactica.
But that's besides the point.
I'm not sure why, but I just really dislike the mere idea of eating alone when I'm out. So I typically avoid it. Today though, I went out by myself and enjoyed the time to myself.
The 2nd reason it was so rare and amazing was that I actually had 30 minutes for lunch. Usually I only have 10 minutes and it consists of forcing food down and getting ready to go meet my students for homework/tutor time.

It was amazing.
And I caught up on some reading too!
Then tonight the boyfriend and I exchanged gifts. He is perhaps the best gift giver ever. No lie. And this year he outdid himself yet again with a cupcake maker, kureg, Auburn gear (including a light up snowman), along with some other awesome goodies.

An awesome Tuesday, I must say.
