Dear Dad,
I remember the last birthday of yours we celebrated. You turned the big 5-0. But even with your salt and pepper hair, you still looked and acted young.
Eleven years have passed and today we should be celebrating your 61st birthday together. More than anything I wish that we were. You were my best friend and I miss you still everyday. But it helps knowing you're in a better place. I just hope they serve cake in heaven!
Always yours,
Kellie

dear 25
Dear 25,
I am looking so forward to what you have in store. Maybe it sounds corny, but I just have this good feeling (or at least a lot of hope) that you will be good. How could you not? You are my favorite number squared (that's 5 for all you non math folk). And trust me, I am serious about this number stuff. How could I not be, when my birthday is 5-5 and 5 has been my favorite number since I can remember.
So I'm excited for tomorrow, the cinco de kellie where I turn a quarter of a century years old. Where I get to celebrate a new year with friends and family, pancakes and coronas. And I am excited for this upcoming year and all the possibilities it holds.
This year I plan on achieving all of my 25 before 26 goals. I am going to try my absolute darnedest at being more positive and looking on the bright side of things. I plan on getting closer to God and remembering that He knows what's best. I plan on regaining hope for my future.
I hope that all of you will stay with me. I know that this blog isn't always the most exciting, nor is it always the happiest, but I really am anxious for what this new year brings and I can't wait to share it here with yall as well.
Here's to a new year. A new age. And a new outlook.

thank God for girl friends
"I get by with a little help from my friends."
( A great song that captures exactly how I feel.)

I love my girl friends. And I seriously do thank God for them oh so often. Whether they are emailing/pen-pal/ or face to face friends, I cherish our relationships.
There are just some things that only girl friends can do. And sometimes it take another girl, a girl who knows you (and loves you anyway) to get you. To talk to. To play along with your silliness... like oh I don't know, say watching the Gossip Girl royal wedding episode, while dressing up and drinking some champagne.....

Even my mom is such a good girl friend.
And I love these women for who they are and who they are to me.

They help me to figure out what's important and what is just silly and needs to be thrown away.
Heck, even in Sex and the City the gals were known for their quotes like Maybe our girlfriends are our soul mates and guys are just people to have fun with.
And
She is my friend. She's my family. My insides. She will be fine because she has to be fine. That's how important she is to me.

So thank you gals, both in photos above and those that are pictured. Because without you, I wouldn't be as sane (nor happy) as I am.
so much love,
kellie

Dear Aaron Rodgers...

Okay Aaron,
As much as I love you and find you incredibly attractive (and since Steven is well aware of this, I can admit it online), I'm a bit disappointed. You had almost a perfect season (okay you and your team) and while I understand losing a few games or so, this last game was just a disgrace. Besides being the only team at the playoffs that lost on their home turf, you were suppose to go to the Super Bowl and beat some asses again!
But I still have faith for next year. And I'm still totally in love with you (don't worry!).
xoxoxo

Oh and pictures of us for the playoff game:

Dear Tuesday,
I really, really don’t like you today. I know that you’re not the cause for my foul mood today, but you haven’t helped me in any way get out of it. Why do you have to be so early in the week? I’m just glad you’re not Monday- Monday is a complete jerk!
-kel
Dear bed,
I miss you a lot right now. I’m sorry that I haven’t been spending a lot of time with you, it’s not you though, it’s me. Well, my schedule anyway- it’s been keeping me from you. :( I’ll have a talk with my schedule about it soon, I promise.
-missing you like crazy,
Kel
Dear schedule,
You’re killing me. And my bed is getting jealous...I’d watch your back....

fun fact tuesday (v.5)
i have the biggest crush on Paul McCartney.
there i said it.
ok yes i know he was my age...in the 60's, but he's sooo awesome, even still.
my mom use to sing me "all my loving" as she was putting me to sleep. no lullabies for me, only beatles tunes. while i grew up liking the beatles, it wasn't until i saw a movie about paul and linda that i really had a crush on this hunky bass/guitar player & singer. they seemed so in love and of course, who couldn't love paul with his british accent and mad guitar/bass/singing skills?? haha. oh yea and that tiny tie look :)

So, dear Sir Paul McCartney, if you are out there reading this, you now are aware of a random 20-something year old girl having a crush on you (because that's out of the ordinary right?? ha). but seriously, marry me??? :)
Who is your celebrity crush?!?!?!
love,
kel
