happy news!!!

So as of last night, it is official, I was hired (for my 2nd job)!!!
I am now a youth pastor at a local church. :)

My bestie has been the youth pastor there for the past 6 months, but when she moved away they needed someone else. I never in a million years would consider myself for the position, but since I had helped out chaperoning and the kids know me (and the pastor has known me since I was in 1st grade) they asked me. And suprisingly I said yes. I didn't think I would ever be cut out for this, nor would I want to do it, but when they asked all I could feel was excitement. I think partly I'm looking forward to it because it's similar to teaching, which I am itching to start. I get to create and teach lessons, I get to decorate a youth room, and I get to be with some amazing kids every Sunday. :) My heart is full and happy!

I start this Sunday, so I have about 3 days to come up with a lesson, but my pastor has helped me greatly and I have a bunch of material from high school when I was a co-leader in a bible styudy group, so I'm not too, too worried. Although if any of yall have some advice on fun games to play with some high schoolers, that would be awesome! Please share!!!

I'm really looking forward to this new chapter. Thanks for letting me share with yall!

Congragulations Kellie! That is so awesome, I'm so happy for you!!!! I have no idea about games for high schoolers, I'll have to think on that one and get back to you!! oh wait, whats the game called where you write a name on a piece of paper, pass it to the next person and stick the paper that was passed to you on your head and then they give you hints and you have guess who is on your head? that could be fun!!
xoxo,
Lindsay

Wow, that is gonna be SUCH a fun and challenging job! CONGRATULATIONS! I'm sure that if you've been a bible study leader, you already know how to work with kids- I'm sure you're going to do great!
