100 joys (part 3)

22. A sweet email I got from my boss that was sent to everyone in our firm, including me:
"As all of you know, I think, Kellie’s last day is Thursday, December 30. We are all extremely sad that she is leaving, but at the same time we are thrilled that she is going to be working as an Intern in a 5th grade class. I know this is just the beginning of a lifetime of teaching our children to become great students and citizens. Ham and I are extremely proud of you and are thankful for our opportunity to have worked with you for the last five years. You will be greatly missed."

23. Having work on my car that was estimated to cost over $400 only costing me
$52!!!!

24. What I call the "gym" feeling. You know, how you somehow just feel more confident and like you are actually being good to your body for once. That's how I feel. Going to the gym also has provided a kind of release for me. I can take out all my annoyance and anger and frustration while on the bike or treadmill and by the time I leave, I feel so much better.

25. Sweet people that go out of their way.
Like the lady at the Courthouse who in filing papers for me realized I was some $ short. She offered to pay for me until I could come back and refund her.
Or my nurse who always is so kind to me because that's just who she is. And who also goes out of her way to make me feel comfortable and calm my fears.
Or my mom who gave up a vacation day to be there for a co-worker to accompany her during a personal matter (and they don't even get along).
The simplest acts of kindness mean the world to me and seeing them take place just gives me more joy than I can put into words.
26. Dogsitting Toast
He is seriously one of the best dogs out there. A little attention needy, but soooo darn cute.
27. My own dogs, Aubre and Coco.
In case you didn't know, I am a huge dog lover. I've had one all my life and the 2 I have right now are the cutest and best! Seeing them every Sunday makes my Sundays even better!
28. Jewelry for Christmas.
Maybe it sounds silly, but hey, I'm a girl and I LOVE getting jewelery for Christmas. My boss got me some awesome necklaces and bracelets from Forever 21 (my favorite!) and the boyfriend got me that coach watch I can't stop looking at (or talking about.....).

29. Giving.
I love to see the look on people's faces. I honestly prefer giving to getting.

100 joys (part 2)

11. SNOW!!
Believe it or not, we had snow here in Florida the other day. (Okay, maybe it lasted only 15 minutes and it didn't stick.....but it was sooo pretty to look at, even if just for a few minutes)

12. This is my last week at the law office.
While I am going to miss the people I work with terribly and I'm nervous about starting my internship, I am soooo excited to be starting this new chapter!!!

13. Short work weeks!
I had Monday (yesterday off) and last Friday!! Huzzah!

14. My lovely, quiet Christmas weekend with my family.
Family is one of the most important things to me and I am so glad that the majority of them live close by!!

15. Christmas Eve Service.
Church on Christmas Eve is actually one of my favorite parts of Christmas. I love getting to see everyone and wish them a Merry Christmas and I really love the ending song.....Silent Night that we sing in complete darkness, minus all the candles the congregation holds. It's beautiful.

16. The whole idea of Christmas might be the biggest joy for me.....to know that my Savior was born of man and walked among us, to die for us so that we could spend eternity with Him and the Father. Could there be anything better? (nope)
17. Seeing little kidos open their Christmas presents. It's one of the simple and awesome joys in life. Getting to spend so much time with my sister's kidos makes me a little anxious for the day when I can have my own.

18. Christmas lights....because it makes the holidays even more magical!

19. Quiet date nights in.

20. Girls nights out.

21. My big comfortable bed....and getting to sleep in in it!

100 joys

After reading the wonderful Jamie's blog and her 100 joys posts (as well as Sarah, the creator's blog), I decided that I should start my own list.

I gotta admit, lately I've been somewhat of a scrooge. I get like this every year, although every year I promise myself I won't. But it happens. I get frustrated, I take on too much, I have too many things going on....and then I start to take things for granted and I forget to stop and appreciate all that I have.
As Ferris Bueller once said, "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. "
So I am going to take note of all the joys in my everyday life this season so I can cherish them and remind myself a little bit more how lucky I am.

I hope you join me on this too! Make your own list and share it!!

Joys:

1. My mom giving my a slice of homemade banana bread my step-dad made

2. Our firm's Christmas lunch and party where we relived funny stories and memories. This group of wonderful people have been like a family to me over the past four and a half years. I'm so going to miss them....

3. Hello hugs from my beautiful nieces, nephew and sister.

4. Goodbye hugs from my nieces, nephew and sister.

5. My sister's AWESOME spaghetti sauce, made from scratch!

6. Snuggle time with the boyfriend.

7. Getting Christmas gifts in the mail from friends far away.

8. Good morning kisses.

9. Sweet and thoughtful Christmas cards via snail mail.

10. My bosses and co-workers constantly telling me how much they'll miss me. (I'll miss them too. So much)

More joys later.

Happy Christmas eve-eve :)
