day 28 of 30 days of me
day 28- a picture of you from last year and now, how have you changed since then?
me 1 year ago:
so....how have i changed in 1 year. oy. TONS.
me 1 year ago:
so....how have i changed in 1 year. oy. TONS.
This time last year I was going through a tough break up. This year I am happily dating the guy of my dreams.
Last year I had a completely different group of friends. This year I am trying to rekindle lost friendships and trying to hold on to the ones that I somehow let go in the past.
Last year I wasn't happy- I had happy moments of course, but I just wasn't overly happy nor content. This year I feel happy just about everyday. Of course, I still have sucky, fml days, but for the most part I love, love, love my life.
Last year I had only 1 job. This year I have 2.
Last year my best friend was also my roommate. This year my best friend lives in England and I have a new (and also awesome) roommate.
Last year I spent that majority of my time with the bf at the time and the 2nd and 3rd member of the 3 musketeers. This year I spend my days mostly with my current bf and friend Brit.
Last year I weighed about 10 pounds less. This year I am at a healthy weight.
I guess you could say that overall, this past year has made me do a lot of soul searching and evaluating. I've come to find out new things about myself and others. I've grown up....some. haha. I've tried to be more responsible. I've probably taken on way too many things, but I am also the happiest I've perhaps ever been. Life is still tough sometimes, but I'd like to think that I've become better at handling the tough times and enjoying the good. I've grown into myself. There's still a long way to go, but I am happy at where I am right now in life. (And this is something I honestly didn't see myself saying this time last year).

day 27 of 30 days of me
day 27- why are you doing this 30 day challenge
I’ll be honest, every time I see some sort of blogging “challenge” I get all excited and jump on board. However, like most things in my life, I sign up and then get tied up with so many other things that the idea I was so pumped about suddenly takes the back seat (if it is even able to stay in the car at all....). This time though, I’ve promised myself I’d finish a challenge. This challenge. Maybe it’s silly, but I’m almost kinda proud for being so close to done. I love doing anything crafty or blogger-ish (did I just create a new word?) and I’m really hoping that this is the start of a new trend- finishing projects and challenges in regards to crafting, creating, and blogging. We shall see......

day 24 of 30 days of me
day 24- a letter to your parents
instead of posting the letters, i just decided to actually write my parents. i did take a photo though, just to prove i actually did write them!
these 2 are for my mom and step-dad.

we already know how i feel about my mom....she's the best thing since slice bread (and we all know how much i love bread.) she seriously is the best mom ever and one of my favorite people in this world. i love her more than i could ever express in words.
i wrote to my stepdad thanking him for all hes ever done for me. he has been there for me and my mom through countless ordeals, like when i had my wisdom teeth taken out and got sick from the meds they gave me. he stayed at my place all week long, making sure i was okay and making me food i could actually eat. i could never repay him for all the niceness he's showed us.
then theres one more letter i decided to write....to my dad

a few years ago i decided that i would create a memory book for him. its filled with memories (like his favorite drink or show) to pictures of us together. i also add notes every once and awhile, writing things i wish i could say to him. i took this time to write him another one. i miss him like crazy and i hate that hes missing out on such wonderful events in my life....but i know he's in a better place and thats what keeps me going.....
xoxo

day 22 of 30 days of me
day 22- what makes you different from everyone else:
I honestly have never understood the term "normal" when it comes to describing people. What is "normal" and who defines it? My personal opinion is that there is no such thing- it's crap. Everyone is different and everyone has their quirks. I love that no one is exactly alike, that we are all different (and also similar) from each other.
So some uniqueness about me:
-i'm always always cold (so i always have a jacket on!)
-i talk in my sleep. in fact, sometimes i'll hold conversations with people (via rea life or phone) and i won't remember a thing, because i was actually asleep
-i refuse to eat the first or last of anything. i also hate being first in line for food
what are some of your quirks??? i'd love to hear em :)
lovelove,
kel

day 20 of 30 days of me
day 20- someone you see yourself marrying or being with in the future:
I know this is suppose to be a "romantic" kind of post.... but I decided to kind of put a different spin on it as well......
I honestly hope and pray that in the future, I will still know everyone in my life right now. Friends, church members (especially my youth group), family members, my awesome roommate, co-workers, and yes, especially my amazing boyfriend.
*******************
Okay, I admit it.... I have been a little afraid of this post (which could explain it's delayed appearance). To explain, it's not the answer that scares me, but the idea of being so open about something so personal that has freaked me out. However, I feel like I did agree to do this feature in it's completion, so I think that also involves being completely honest and open (something I am sometimes not too good with). So the truth. Someone I could see myself being with in the future (and no it's not Jim Sturgess or Prince Harry, although......nevermind.) For the first time in a long time, I feel like I actually do want to get married one day and it's not because I want to try on wedding dresses or have someone to come home to, it's because I'm with a guy that is amazing, that makes me smile even when we're fighting, that texts me in the morning just to say hi, and who goes out of his way for me constantly to make sure I know he loves me. I tried really hard to convince myself that I didn't want to get married or have a family, when in reality I did- I just was so afraid of it not happening that I tried to believe I just didn't want it. I do want it though, one day (not anytime soon, don't worry). I am that girl that use to dream about her wedding when she was little and thought of how much she one day wanted to be a wife. And I still do want it, but I want it because of the guy, this awesome guy. It's not the idea of a marriage I'm in love with anymore, but the idea of being with this guy in the future that I am in love with.

day 17 of 30 days of me
day 17- someone you would want to switch lives with for one day and why:
Lauren Conrad.

Okay, so I thought about this and there were tons of people that I would love to trade lives with for a day....
for their creativeness: Elsie Flannigan, Janel M., Courtney B....etc
for their fashion that inspires me: Sienna Miller, Kate Winslet, Stell aMcCartney, and of course Lauren Conrad
and then there were tons of people that inspire me to live that I wish I could trade lives with for a day, like: Donald Miller or Shane Claiborne.
I know, I did probably way too much thinking for one little blog post.... But I ended up going with Lauren Conrad. Let's face it, she's one of America's sweethearts, she knows how to dress, she's gotten to write (which I would love to do), and if I could look like her and have her closet for one whole day, I'm pretty sure I'd be in heaven.
Who would you be for a day?? Any other L.C. fans?? haha
lovelove,

days 13, 14, 15, & 16 of 30 days of me
i've been slacking on these....crazy long and tiring weekend...but good. :)
day 13- a letter to someone who has hurt you recently
I honestly thought about this one a lot, trying to figure out who to write to. I came up with no one. Granted I've been hurt, but I'm not angry about any of it anymore. I think I've learned from every situation and while I may not talk to some of the people that have hurt me (especially in the more recent times) I don't hold a grudge. I wish them well. And even though I wish I could have (or still could) fix whatever it was that happened, I've come to the conclusion that some things just can't be fixed- not unless both parties want it.... So I think I'm content on this front, although if given the chance to make things okay, I probably would take it..... but the main point is that I'm not hurt nor bitter anymore. :)
**EDITED**: To clarify the above is in NO way regarding to any ex romantic relationships.
day 14- a picture of you and your family
(me and my mom)
(my family and i in alabama this summer)

(my sisters beautiful kidos)
i love my family :)
day 15- put you ipod on shuffle: first 10 songs that play
(can i just start by saying i need to redo my songs, half of them i no longer listen to.... lol)
1-safe in the arms of love by christan davis
2- anything by mae
3-unfailing love by chris tomlin
4-missin' you by chris rice
5-no more by will smith
6-what child is this by the moody blues
7- fat bottomed girls by queen
8- hit me baby one more time by britney spears
9-futuresex/ lovesound by justin timberlake
10- can you feel the love tonight by elton john
day 16- another picture of yourself

day 12 of 30 days of me
day 12- how you found out about blogger and why you have one
It's weird to think that I've actually been blogging for 3 years now (yup, my very first post was July 3, 2007). Although I used it more to write about personal things back then....which I somewhat regret now. I honestly prefer having a blog to share other aspects of my life, but the main reason I still keep at it is that it's my main source of inspiration and it helps me stay positive. I try very hard to keep this place a positive space in my life (although yes I have been known to vent here a few times as well). And it was all due to my good friend Jessica who introduced me to Elsie Flannigan's blog and flickr. From then on I was hooked by the creativeness and eye candy.
And we have been "happily ever" after since. :)
Why did you start blogging? I'd love to hear your story! :)

day 9 of 30 days of me
day 9- something youre proud of in the past few days
I baked....and didn't burn the house down. For those of you that know my cooking/baking past, you'd know this is an achievement. I once made beignets and on accident set the stove on fire. However, the beignets were still pretty darn awesome.... :)
Of course, the brownies I made from scratch (yup, SCRATCH)--- haven't tried those yet.... ha!

day 7 of 30 days of me
day 7- a picture of someone/something that has the biggest impact on you

jesus.
my relationship with Jesus is what defines me.
i know it sounds cliche, but this relatisonhip (not religion(for i see religion as more of a man made thing)) has changed my life and has made me who i am. not everyone has the same views, but these are mine.

i know it sounds cliche, but this relatisonhip (not religion(for i see religion as more of a man made thing)) has changed my life and has made me who i am. not everyone has the same views, but these are mine.
