*pen pal project reviews*
I often post about getting letters from pen pals or try to put out more information about the project itself here for yall to sign up. I decided to add a little something extra today though, and let yall hear about the pen pal project from some of those are currently pen pals in the group! Hope you enjoy.
(There are mostly positive, but there are also some not so positive reviews, just so that you get the whole picture).
Kellie's penpal project is a wonderful idea for all who love writing and receiving good old hand-written mail. I've got to know some lovely oversea penpals and enjoy every single letter. It's always such a pleasure to check the mailbox in the mornings to see if it's a good mail day. Thank you Kellie!
It's amazing to find there are so many people out there who still appreciate a hand-written letter, and it's awesome that Kellie has created a group for like-minded people to connect. I've only done one round so far, but I already have met people with similar interests that I wouldn't have had the opportunity to connect with otherwise.
I have loved the pen pal group!! It has been more of a "support system" for me this past year.
It is a little encouragement and happiness in your mailbox on a regular basis.
It is kindness and friendship the old fashioned way. I love sending and receiving letters in the mail, it has been an incredible experience for me and I highly recommend it to anyone!
I always wanted a pen pal, and when I came across this project I was delighted!!
I didn't let myself write as much as I would've liked but I did make a GREAT friend I would have never known if it wasn't for this project!!

I love writing and receiving letters so that's why I signed up for the project. I look forward to the new list each time I sign up. I love reading about others lives from around the world and what they like. I've learned about new books and new types of music and many other things so far. I really want to thank you for setting this up. It's been nice to get more pen pals.

Ha, it sounds so corny, but it's true! I've written some people multiple times we have so much to talk about! i love it! thanks for making the pen pal project available to us kellie!!

You have to be dedicated and sign up for a few months to really get the full potential of the pen pal project. But once you do you make some great friends. It is very rewarding to write to those people and get heart-felt letters in return.
One thing you might want to tell pen pals is to be sure that whatever they send out has enough postage….
Hi Kellie. I love Project pen pal, but I have noticed that some people on the list, that I write to, either I never hear back from them or they write once & that's it. That's kind of disappointing. You don't have to use that as feedback, but I thought I would mention it. I hope that people who sign up are serious about writing to pen pals. I know people get busy & all.

Including you, I only heard from three of the people on my pen pal list. I absolutely understand that this is in no way any fault of yours. I think it is super important that participants know that this project requires a lot of time, and effort. It also takes a lot of discipline, and dedication.

Calling all Canadian pen pals

I'm creating a new group!
There have been a lot of gals from Canada signing up and not all have wanted to take part in international (yes, the price of stamps can be pricey) so I decided (thanks to the help of a fellow pen paler) to create a new group, just for my Canadian pen pals! So now there are three (yup, 3!!!) lists to choose from: USA national (USA residents only), Canada national (Canadian residents only), and International (all countries).

USA: (state to state is 44 cents)
USA to another country (98 cents)
I'm not sure about another country to another country, but feel free to share if you have those rates.

oh happy mail!
i got tons of letters today. :) yay for pen pals. i love you all!
and i also got a little post card from merry ole' england...from my bestie!!! and guess who was on the front? my favorite!!! the beatles!!!
im so jealous....not only did she get to go to Liverpool, but she also got to visit the Cavern Club, where The Beatles had their first show!! how amazing.

another pen pal update!
Just a little pen pal project update.... 
Starting October, the rules for the pen pal group are changing some. Here's what's new and different:
-instead of creating lists bi-monthly, it's now at least 2 lists every month
-each month i will create 1 international pen pal list (for people inside AND outside the U.S.) and one national pen pal list (those ONLY in the U.S.) you can sign up for whichever is easiest/better for you
-each group will have only 10-15 members, so as soon as one fills up, I will start another one (that way no one has to wait a month or 2 to get started)

july/august pen pals!
Hey!!!
Good news, I sent out the email with the July and August pen pals!!! If you didn't get it and sent me an email to sign up, please let me know.
If you want to join and are just now seeing this, I can go ahead and sign you up for the next round OR wait until a later time to do so (I'll mention it again on here when I start the new list).
I ended up not splitting the list (hope none of you are upset about that), so it is rather large. However, just write to as many gals as you can. :) No pressure, remember it's suppose to stay fun!!!!

pen pal update
ok, so maybe I'm a total nerd but i am super excited about this round of pen pals (july and august). so far 16 new people have signed up and at least 5-10 prior pen pals have signed up again. it's by far our biggest group yet and i'm stoked!!!
(side note: returning pen pals, if you asked for the whole list, you'll be getting the whole list, and if you asked for a split group, you'll get a split list....does that make sense??)
anywho, if you are reading this and have yet to sign up, please let me know within the week. otherwise, there is always the september/october round.
if you already signed up for july/august and sent me all your info via email, then i've already put you on the list. if youre unsure, you can always email me to double check, but i've tried to write back to every email so you'd know you were indeed added to the list. :)
i'll be sending out emails with the pen pal info soon!!! so hurry and sign up if you havent.

PEN PAL news!
Hello all. :)
This past week I mentioned wanting a pen pal and surprisingly I got a lot more responses than I thought I would, which got me thinking....and I think I came up with a good idea (or at least I hope so). I was thinking that it might be fun to have a little group of people to write to! This is how I was thinking it would work:
The plan: If you are interested in participating, e-mail me at kellz0505@gmail.com; include your name, blog name, e-mail address, and address. Once I have all the names complied, I can make it into an e-mail and send it out to everyone that wants to participate. From there, you will each have a list of girls (or guys) that are taking part in this and you can decide when you want to write them. I will suggest though, that you at least try to write everyone once. I don't want it to be a huge group (that way we can avoid anyone feeling too overwhelmed with this fun project) but I think allowing it to be a group thing will make it more interesting.
I am hoping that this will turn into something awesome and each member of the group will be equally involved and we blogger friends can become more acquainted with each other.
I think in order to keep things updated I will update the list each month. So I'll set a deadline for those that want to sign up for March (and since it's the first time for this, we'll combine March and April and start adding new "members" in May) and then come Mayl you can "re-apply" (basically by sending me an email that says you want to still do it) and newbies can join in as well. If you don't want to "re-apply" you don't have to, you just won't send me an email telling me you want to still be apart of the group. And the thing is, if you already had some pen pals that you connected with, you can still write to them, even if you're not in the group.
Soooo, with all that being said, if this sounds like fun to you, please e-mail me with your info and I will get everything together as soon as I can so we can all start!!!!
