just messing around

The end of the weekend has kind of just hit me and I realized I haven't gotten as much done as I'd hoped.... I also realized that there were a bunch of photos on my camera that I've been meaning to edit and upload to share, but haven't.
So many people have been posting beautiful and creative photos on their blogs and flickr and I decided that I needed to take time to journal/scrap again. I felt inspired and I desperately needed to get back into it.
Here are some pages I messed around with. I'm not sure how I feel about them, but it was just nice creating something all mine and seeing where the wind blew me.

this last page is actually the intro into my journal and was made by my dad. its my initials, kns. i figured it was pretty interesting and i wanted something that reminded me of him and his artistic creativity to be a part of my journal.

i also realized that i hadn't upload pictures of the yard sale! shame on me, its only been what, 3 weeks? but it went REALLY well. i was impressed with the youth for showing up early and helping :) here are some quick photos i snapped before it got busy.

have a fabulous rest of your weekend loves!
catch you tomorrow! :)

fun questions

Katie tagged me to do this survey and after reading her questions and answers, I just HAD to :)

1. Where do you see yourself five years from now?
I have no idea! And that kind of excites me. I hope that I'm a teacher and in love with that career choice. I also hope that I'm happy with myself and content with life.

2. What is your favorite food in the world?
My family jokes about it but we looooove food. We plan future meals before we've finished out current one. However, I am in love with bread--any kind, french, Italian, bagels, biscuits, i could live off of it! ...or pizza yumyum

3. If you have any pets what are their names?

I have 2 dogs, but they live with my mom. The oldest dog I got for my 9th birthday. It was the best surprise ever she's the cutest and her name is Coco. The other dog is a doxie and is Au'bre. I picked her out and just fell in love with her at first sight. When I moved away to college my mom had to keep them and with my crazy lifestyle she still has them. I get to dog sit sometimes though :)

4. What is your dream job?
I have a ton. I want to own my own cute shop with my mom, be a teacher, be a photographer, write!

5. Have you been in love?
Yes twice. Both completely different life changing experiences.

6. What do you do to protect the earth?
Not enough. This is something I really should work on.

7. Ten people you would invite to a dinner party in a forest with great music?
Just 10?? I'm inviting everyone. :)

Wanna come??

8. Tell me something nice you did for someone recently...I like Katie's answer: I am going to leave this one blank. I think it makes something less nice if you tell everyone about it. However I will say that the nicest thing I've done for myself recently is to take time for me and me things (like reading, catching up on dvds, and sleep :) )

**** Bonnie's random questions*****
1. What is one thing you do that is childlike?
A lot of things. I looove to color in coloring books though. And when I babysit my sister's kids I like to watch Barney with my youngest niece.

2. What is one of the most embarrassing moments of your life?
Just one? Probably that time I got really drunk and spent the whole night puking... I wasn't at my house and my face hurt for a week because I feel asleep with my face on the toilet. Pretty huh?The next morning I had to call in late to work so that I could first drive home and wash the puke out of my hair. My mom still laughs at my silliness in this. ......I can't believe I just wrote this up here though...ek

3. If you could take an all expenses paid trip anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Everywhere! There are so many places I want to see!

4. What is your favorite thing to do to relax?
Get into my pjs or sweats and watch a movie with my best friends, Ben and Jerry.

5. What is the most spontaneous thing you have ever done? Did you regret it?
I'm not too sure on this, I typically plan things out a lot (both a good and bad trait). But I try to not see anything in my life as a regret, it brought me to my current position in life and I can't be too upset about that! :)

6. What is your favorite genre of music?
I really like all types of music, but my favorites (yup plural) would be oldies or indie.

7. What is your favorite movie of all time?
I lovelovelove movies, so I have a huge list of favorites. Top 5: Jumpin Jack Flash, Pretty in Pink, The Holiday, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and Sex and the City (but not the new one)

8. If you had a chance to meet anyone dead or alive who would it be?

So many..... I would love to have met Albert Einstein, Gandhi, Mother Theresa, and Louis Armstrong. Alive.... hmmmmm thats a tough one.... how about all my blog pals?? and maybe some celebrity hotties like Jim Sturgess and of course, Paul McCartney!!

Ok, YOUR TURN!!! link me to your post so I can read your comments! can't wait to read em all!!!

have a beautiful weekend loves!

Wednesday Wishes

Typically my wishes on here have been cute stuff I would love to own or things I need to get done. It's a place where I can share my desires and goals, gain insight from yall, and then hear other's lists as well. This is probably one of my favorite features and I'm SOOOOO glad Courtney came up with it!

Today though, as I was driving into work I decided that today's post needs a spin on it.... in spending time with my youth group I've realized that I spend too much of my time being too realistic and simple. One thing that I love about this group of high schoolers is that they still dream...sometimes outlandish dreams and I love that! Then I start to think, why have I stopped dreaming like that? Why is it that I deem crazy far out dreams as impossible and therefore forgetable??? I hate the idea that as we get older we stop allowing ourselves the right to dream of crazy and all out amazing things. So in honor of being a kid at heart who still wishes on the first star and secretly hopes that the moon is made of cheese....here are my Willy Wonka type of dreams....because nothing is impossible and nothing is too silly.

My Willy Wonka type dreams:

1. own a cute shop with my mom.

our store would have antiques (her love), cute dresses (like these betsy johnson dresses, but cheaper--affordable), cute little accessories (for your hair, your self, your home, and fun little gifts), other clothing (totally affordable), photos (taken by local artists, and hell since it's my dream world, some by me too!), and food (something simple but wonderful, cupcakes maybe? cookies maybe?)!!

I'd also get to have as many tattoos as I wanted, since it's my own shop and I make the rules!

It would also be a cute little shop located in the heart of a bustling sweet little city.....DC perhaps?

photo found here

or maybe London?
or NYC?
or somewhere near the beach???

2. own a place by the beach.
money is no object in my dream world (apparently).
i feel like i never get to the beach, even though i only live 15 minutes away...but if i had a beach house, i'd be there all the time and i'd have fun parties for my friends...

3.travel the world.
austria? australia? italy? west coast of the US? greece? mexico for my bday (cinco de mayo, a/k/a may 5th) Yes please!

4. be a roller derby girl

i want to do this sooooo badly, time is what stands against me though. well that and not having bought skates yet, so who knows if im actually any good...but in my perfect little world, i rock it! :)

5. take and endless amount of history classes
i looove history and i've had some awesome history professors at UNF. if i could take more and not have to worry about prices i would be all over that!

6. be a writer
i want to write books. a little bit carrie bradshaw, a little bit donald miller (weird combo i know). i just want to write it all!

What are your crazy outlandish dreams?????
Don't forget to check out Liz's, Katie's and Courtney's wednesday wishes!!! :)

YOUR TURN!!!

my long weekend

Yay for Tuesday!!! I love when the work week starts later than usual! Especially because being off Monday meant I finally got a day off!! It was the first day in 2 weeks! I loved it! It was nice finally being able to sleep in.
All in all it was a very lovely weekend, although I have realized my not blogging during the weekend makes me kinda sad. I think I'm going to start trying to make time to blog (or at least read blogs) during my weekends so that I don't feel like I've lost touch with anyone (which is how I sometimes feel come Monday morning).

This weekend by bestie came into town!!!! It made me sooo happy to see her I could've done backflips! She came in for the lock in (I figured it would be perfect timing, since she was the youth leader at my church before I was). The kids were soooo happy to see her. It sucked having to say goodbye, but I'm so glad she was here for at least a couple days. I'm gonna miss her like heck when she leaves the country for her mission trip!!
The lock in suprisingly went pretty well.... they went to bed around 2 (thank you Lord!!!!) I seriously was worried that everyone would stay up late and try to do things to those already asleep. They didn't. It was honestly just like having a massive sleep over with my best friends. I love those guys and gals- they are all so amazing and smart and all around awesome! I thank God for their presence in my life everyday!
The rest of our lock in included some....
...and other movies and games. Plus TONS of food. *Thanks Leigh!!*
Another amazing, AMAZING part of my weekend was getting to dog sit Toast (my neighbors dog). He is the freaking best dog ever.... (well top three with mine anywho!)
*this picture of Toast and Jeff is one of my all time favorites!!!*
PS Jeff K., if you are reading this...I hope you enjoyed the youth group and I singing lady gaga and miley cyrus to you.
PPS Jeff K, we freaking miss you, get your ass up to Jax to visit already!!!!
The rest of my weekend:
-tons of reading
-rented this movie..... honestly i was hoping I'd like it...maybe i just wasnt in the british humor mood... i don't know.
the boy and i also got a chance to hang out on my lovely day off!
i did a lot of reading, cuddeling, and watching crazy tv (that he enjoys-haha)
then sushi for dinner....YUM

and red velvet (my choice) and orginal (his choice) fro yo for dessert!
then we just drove around aimlessly listening to music and getting lost, one of my favorite things to do with Dan. It's just relaxing and fun... plus the houses we ran across were AMAZING. i want one of them soo bad...
he also was kind enough to watch the bachelorette with me :) which sadly got cut short for us when my building's fire alarm went off.... we evacuated and waited for the fire trucks.....and no exaggeration..... 6 showed up in our community (which is relatively small) and another 3 passed by trying to get in..... crazy! then they couldnt figure out which unit had the shut off panel, causing the alarm to continue going off for over 30 minutes. i got to meet more of my neighbors though which was pretty awesome!! :)

How was YOUR weekend????
Also, I'd like to wish Jamie a happy, happy birthday today!!
Hope it's going perfectly!!! (Go wish her a happy birthday and enter her giveaway before she picks the winner tonight!)
